Sam and Gretchen

When Sam was three months old he was diagnosed as having low vision and light sensitivity.  Shortly after that time, he began wearing glasses with transition lenses that darken in bright sunlight. Sam is now a happy, well-adjusted four year-old and most people who meet him don’t realize he has significant vision impairment. Two mornings a week Sam receives vision services through the school district. Sam also attends a regular preschool three days a week where his favorite activity is playing with his friends in the sandbox building roads and houses.

Gretchen
is an adorable toddler with a winning smile and a lot of determination and strength of character.  She is a joy to me and she adores her big brother.  Sam and Gretchen’s play is always full of laughter.  Gretchen and I have lots of alone time together when Sam is at school. She is now in preschool part time, which will give me special time with the new baby.
