Meet Anna
I grew up in Orinda, Ca. a small suburb about twenty minutes from San Francisco. As a child I was lucky to have open space to play and grow. I was very athletic and I have many happy memories of riding horses with my friends, spending long days at the local swimming pool, and doing gymnastics.
I love to read and watch old movies and also enjoy doing outdoor things like going to the park and the beach, or having barbeques with my friends and family. Sometimes people ask me if it is hard to be a single mom. I guess my answer is that sometimes being a mom is hard work. But I am strong emotionally and physically. I am also fortunate to have the resources for help and support when needed.
For most of my adult life I have worked with children and families, first as a nursery school teacher, and now as a child therapist. Although I am a stay-at-home mom, I do currently work about four hours a week doing individual play therapy with children and their parents as well as work with foster children in groups. My work has taught me that even with the most challenging children, there is always a sense of hope and resiliency. My job is flexible and has allowed me to set my own hours and adjust them as needed.
